Clarina Equestrian Centre was established in 1979 by Mary McCarthy, whose passion and devotion to horses, combined with her enthusiastic approach to teaching, led this popular riding school to what it is today. Mary first qualified with the legendary Iris Kellet Establishment and was later joined by her daughter Gillian who holds a Stage 3 in Professional Horsemanship. Both Mary and Gillian are BHS qualified instructors and hold the internationally recognised qualification for coaching.
Clarina Equestrian Centre celebrates its 40th anniversary this year and generations of families have learnt to ride there. Every pupil can expect an extremely high standard of tuition, covering equitation, jumping and all disciplines of horsemanship and can also enjoy the comfort and family atmosphere for which the centre is so well known.
The horses and ponies are clearly an extension of the family and are all beautifully schooled, ensuring there is always one to suit every individual. Clarina Equestrian Centre puts its longevity and success down to happy pupils and happy horses. That is why people keep coming back and if the horses could talk, they would tell you the same!!
